Musical Pieces

This piece of music by Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) is from 1838-39.

The chord progression in the piece was in 1973 used as a basis for a pop song by Barry Manilow: "Could It Be Magic". This song is also covered by Donna Summer (1976) and Take That (1992).

AnotherSchmoe: Because I'm still alive and well and able to read and respond to it. =D

TheMrJusteeno: If there are haters it's more for Chopin rather than the player, unless you are asking Chopin to keep up the great work even though he's dead. I don't know why anyone would be hating on Chopin. Why am I replying to a comment that was posted 2 years ago?

inkadinkadoodle: they're strong hands. one could look at it as the shading showing the hands in a not-so-flattering way. one could also say that the shading shows the strong, sinewy hands of a hard worker. it's all a matter of perception. :)

inkadinkadoodle: i'm somewhat ashamed that i didn't discover this (particular) lovely piece until Barry Manilow integrated it into "Could This Be The Magic," but at least i discovered it...and it's never too late to appreciate beautiful music! :) :)

inkadinkadoodle: "it sucks" yet "very well done" ? i don't understand. please explain?

eyezickdiaz98: brotha lynch hung i went from sample

rickysquid123: look like a witches hands!

F00dTube: It sucks but still very well done.

planeguy3223: A couple of mistakes but it still sounds great! Beautifully played!

edmonddantes2025: timing is off

ChudFapper: The timing is completely off.

rehokuto: listen to celentano "ti penso e cambia il mondo" it's the same theme

TeamAceThreeFace: @NAAMxLOOS That was a little bit of the point. with the whole "originial music" thing. I didn't want to bring it up in a counter-argument like that and sound more like a douche. but you understand.

NAAMxLOOS: Be honest with me, what else did you expect from someone with the username 'sparklegleeluver'?

TeamAceThreeFace: @sparklegleeluver Honestly, you don't. Other people do. You can't speak for the people who actually care about original music.

frododoingo987: you even got the ritenuto - amazing!!

sparklegleeluver: honestly, no one cares.

BuBbLexGuMxTrAsH: Playing this for my entrance audition into music at uni... bit different but i hope i get it :)

cveld: Brillant! It reminds me of the old times when I was playing Ghosts'n Goblins on the c64 when I was just a kid. Wow!

TeamAceThreeFace: 0:28 it should be an E natural. the revisions by other people had it changed to an Eb. Chopin knew better than they did. otherwise, quite beautiful

deltathirteen: Who shall dare hate the artistic genius of Chopin?! :O

mikebagel27: do you have a very subtle synth sound in the background, or is that reverb, or is your piano just magical. either way its haunting and beautiful

kungfuman82: This was the first piece I learned at the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, Kentucky. At the time, though, I was too busy defending myself against everyone in the class as they felt the need to ridicule me because I also happened to like Yanni, so I couldn't appreciate the piece until now. Well done!

preuton: Indeed, best performance of all from youtube.

Frédéric Chopin: Op. 28, No. 20.
