Youtube comments ...
smorri10: A deep and penetrating interpretation. Lending
this piece a substance beyond its prelude
form.
Kioooi: I do agree, he was probably more open minded
towards music he did spend most of his life
teaching it. Hearing a new instrument and style
would have really put some inspiration into the
already master mind it sure does most of us
haha
angelofsundown: wonderfull playing, this is an hommage to the
Art of music! Thank you for following your own
way to be, and for not listening to pedantic
"Bachologists" who knows everything about Bachs
interpratation, because they speak with him in
their dreams perhaps...
Norman60Fahrer: I enjoyed this very much ! Thanks for
posting.
abrahammulder: By the way mr Arkansas I'm playing the organ
more than 25 years and the piano's several
years. For me it's Clear you are a amateur
because your playing shows it to me. I know a
lot of Bach and before you give any comment
listen to other performances of profs and not of
amateurs. I have no problems with digital
piano's but I prefer Bach on a Grande piano. I;m
sure a lot of profs should give the same
comment as I do. You Tube is nice but
sometimes,.......
abrahammulder: Don't agree. Nobody knows what Bach liked, it
was not a romantic composer therefore I think he
would disapprove all these things. Bach was the
master of fugue and a Baroque composer.Today we
play on modern instruments and no performance
can't be the way Bach would play it. The grande
piano is a majestic instrument but I really
don't know if Bach would liked it if he lived
today. And YES I find Cubus very talented but I
don't like the sound but I respect everyone
with a different opinion
DSM1G90: Bach would like this performance .... hearing
rubatos, timbre, hearing a piano for the first
time ... et.al.
abrahammulder: I respect Cubus and agree his level is high but
everybody has the right to give his opinion.
This is not the Bach I like! For example not
everybody loves Gould for his Bach
performances because not everybody has the same
opinion about Bach interpretations. Have a nice
day and respect other opinions!!
arkansasnate63: Well, Mr. abrahammulder, the point is simply
this... Cubus demonstrates an extremely high
level of competency in HIS interpretations. It
is obvious that nearly everyone who listens
to his performances is emotionally moved by them
and they oblige him with accolades. Important
part... If you can't say something good, don't
say anything.
abrahammulder: So you know Bach? How in Gods name can you
know what Bach liked! The sound Cubus used
sounds like a guitar and is in my opinion to
soft and has to little brilliance for a prelude
of Bach. And YES I play piano and organ. Listen
to other performances to hear the difference.
End of the discussion! Enjoy the music and
respect people with a different opinion.
arkansasnate63: Yes,... I do think. And I do know what a piano
sounds like. I play one myself... check out my
channel. I'm afraid YOU don't know what a
piano sounds like... I don't see that you play
one... at least you don't play one on your
channel...
abrahammulder: Do you think? Bach didn't like the piano forte
for example! If you have another opinion, nice
but you don't know how a piano must sound i'm
afraid. I respect Cubus and he knows that but
I don't like this interpretation.
abrahammulder: Hi Cathy nice hear from you, everything alright?
If you are willing, send me a message??
arkansasnate63: Pay not attention to those like
abrahammulder,... if Bach was alive today, he'd
not only approve of the sound... he'd most
likely play this way if he could. Another
stellar performance Cubus!
MsPK91: beautiful!
santvia: Amazing... As Usual!
abrahammulder: Listen to the performance of Valery Afanassiev,
This is the sound I love, perfect Bach
interpretation. If you play digital don't use
sounds like Cubus uses for Bach performances. I
prefer to hear a performance on harpichord in
stead even I don;t like the harpichord much. The
grand piano is a majestic instrument to play
Bach, digital OK, but it must sound like a
grande piano.
Listen to Valery Afanassiev and you hear the
difference
szellajos: Quality as always.
abrahammulder: To soft! I don't like the sound! It sounds like
a guitar and not as a grande piano.
I prever this kind of music on a grand piano
with or without sustainpedal.
88keyDaz: Superb ,I've installed ivory ll grand pianos
now thanks to your videos .amazing
poorkinghaggard: This sounds similar to the song Beethoven's
Silence. Both C key signatures are my favorite!
cymagen: love it cubus!!! always beautiful.
Johann Sebastian Bach: Prelude No. 4, C# minor, BWV 849.
